Accommodations and Plans

So I found out where I will be staying during the first 4 weeks that I am in the Philippines. I will be on the island of Mindoro in the small town of Aninuan.

Weeks 1 and 2 will be a maternal and newborn primary health care class. During that time I will stay at the Tamaraw Beach Resort. The people who run this resort are friends of the Penwells. I think that I am going to get a little spoiled here. It may be difficult to move on from there.

Weeks 3 and 4, I will be working directly with the midwives at Mercy Maternity Center. Still unsure of my accommodations for that two weeks.

Weeks 5 and 6 are when Jes and the kids will be joining me. I will meet them in Manila and we will go from there. At this point we do not have any concrete plans. We are hoping to visit Family Circus and would like to meet with others working in the Philippines missions field.

Garage Sale April 2nd & 3rd 8:30am - 3pm

Okay, so we will be having a Garage Sale Friday and Saturday April 2nd and 3rd at 2399 W Crenshaw in Kuna. All proceeds will go to help fund the medical missions trip to the Philippines in June. I know that is Easter weekend but that seems to work best for us.
Any donations would be very much appreciated. If you have items that you would like to donate call me 340-5327 and we can make arrangements for pick up. Anything that does not sell will be donated to the Kuna Life Church garage sale later this spring and all proceeds from that sale will go to help the youth drama group go to national Fine Arts Festival. So either way your donations will be helping out.

House Update

We accepted the second counter offer from the home owner! Looks like we will be moving in May. A whole half a mile away from where we are now. =)

2nd Day of Midwifery School

Got the opportunity to give my first shot and blood draw today. It was a little nerve wracking and my hands were shaking but I did better than I thought I could. Got the vein on the first try.
I have been learning so much! I am sure that I will be spewing pregnancy and labor and delivery information to anybody who will listen for the next few months. I am enjoying the class times even more than I thought that I would but the homework load is very intensive. Pray for quiet times to study, focus, good recall, enough sleep, and for my family relationships remain strong during this time.

House

Just to add to our craziness we put an offer in on a house today. We will see what comes of it. God is in control!
